What You’re Buying

What you need to know about Vetiver Grass.

Vetiver is sold as “slips” – small, rooted pieces ready for planting (not seeds).
Slips are sterile and don’t spread – they stay exactly where you plant them.
Each slip will grow into a mature, upright plant up to 2m tall.
For local customers, potted plants (polybags) are available but not couriered.

How Much You’ll Need

Help you calculate how many slips you need.

For hedging: 10–11 slips per metre
For erosion control: ~3 rows per square metre
Example: 500 metres of hedge = ~5,000 slips
Potted plants (local only): 6 plants per metre
Bonus: You get 5% extra slips free with every order.

Storing & Planting Your Vetiver

What to do when your order arrives

Keep slips standing in water until ready to plant (they can sit indefinitely this way).
Plant in full sun only – shaded areas produce weak root systems.
Avoid planting in frost-prone weather unless under cover.
New plants need watering every 2–3 days for the first 3–4 weeks.
After 3–4 months, trim to encourage thickening. Vetiver becomes very low maintenance.
